Does the thought of spending hours to make meticulous food art, that’ll then be gobbled up in a matter of minutes, leave you feeling crabby? Worry no more :), because I have the simplest fruit art to share with you in an easy to follow step by step tutorial! I had the best time making a cute lunch in honor of Shark Week on my dear friend Agnes’s blog hello, Wonderful , and thought it would be fun to recreate the sea creatures as individual tutorials. Perfect for when you want to add flair to a fruit salad, pancakes, a healthy snack, or even a packed lunch. This cute watermelon crab can be made in less than 5 minutes with only 2 ingredients and 3 tools! Life is all about balance, and as dreamy as the complicated food art is, sometimes you just want something adorable and quick.
You can find the full recipe for the jawsome lunch below, along with other fun and creative diys for kids, here on the hello, Wonderful blog.

2 small slices watermelon (I like to start with a quarter of a watermelon and work from there)
Small/medium round cookie cutter
Small teardrop cookie cutter
Sharp kitchen knife
*All cutting should be done by an adult.
Step 1: Use your circle cutter to cut 1 circle out of each slice of watermelon, set aside.
Step 2: Use the teardrop cutter to cut 4 teardrop shapes out of the watermelon slices.
Step 3: Then use the pointed tip of the teardrop cutter to cut a triangular shape from the top of each watermelon teardrop to form the crab’s claws.
Step 4: Cut long, thin pieces of watermelon using your kitchen knife. Cut 4 longer sections to attach the claws to (2 per watermelon crab), and 12 smaller equal sized pieces (6 per crab) for the legs.
Step 5: Add 2 sprinkle eyes to each and enjoy!
